My 16 year old just obtained her license. Great!!
Problem: 80% of her friends (and my friends) purchase new vehicles for their children to drive. Their own car. Some even get car loans and buy new cars for their kids!! They pay insurance, gas, etc. I think that is CRAZY.
I am the “evil” mother because I will not buy her a car. I feel she must prove her driving skills and responsiblity and then I will only help with a certain dollar amount.
How do I emphasize to my child my values when everyone else has different values?
